I've brought
From gadget A to B to C
Expecting so called
Digital Convergence
I dreamed of a day
A phone that can seamlessly sync
With the contact list on my computer
And beam it back to my Palm
Other than phone's basic function
But here I still struggle
To
send even a SMS
Cross platform to my friend's mobile
Who isn't using a GSM carrier
I swept across the stores
Looking for a PDA
That can deal with my PC files as it's own
But never came up with a sheer winner
A Digital Camera that can use
The same MS memory card
I use with my SONY CLIE
Since my CLIE never Okayed me
To use the camera's SD with it either
A video recorder that links to my TV
And record my latenight favourites
Getting it from a operator
Or from a PC programmed listing
While here I still struggle with the manuals
Just to figure out the timed programming
No wonder I simply go crazy
When I can't use in anyway
My same darn personal info
I fill up in everyday HTML forms
When I compile a client proposal
On the so called standard MS Office
Forget about the net and XML stuff
It is still a rather daunting task
Trying to get software to talk each other
Even on the same computer they reside
If I try to configure it is as such
I'd better be a CISCO geek
Or I'll get my hands burnt with no success
Ahem!
I still switch back and forth
From my boleloved Opera browser to IE
Just to check my office mails online
Stupid
Rather dumb
Too many look alike periperales
To get the same darn job done
But none quite up to the task
The way they supposed to be
Too many wonderful pieces of art
None blends so well with each other
Phones, PCs, VCR, TV gadgets
WiFi, GPRS, TCP/ IP, Cable networks
IR, Bluetooth, Radio communications
USB, SCSI, IEEE Periperales
Zip, flash, Jazz, CD, Tape storages
None saves life on the edge
Nice bizarre alien technologies
That do not know each other
As much as I know about
My never at home neighbour
And my list' is gonna adhere to
Soon when I gonna get my first Tablet PC
I've entangled in this endless labyrinth
Hence asking my fridge to SMS me
When I go run out of my milk
Still looks a scene quoated from
One of the Jules Verne’s books
Digital Convergence
Never been so promising
It has given me the taste of
A forbidden fruit
But it still is a stillborn child
A handicapped crippled man
I always wondered
Wouldn't I be happier
With my trusted old paper notebook
Which never got it's pages corrupted
During any of these power surges
What if I never knew any of these ?
Would I still be missing all this
Fancy gadgets...
Bizarre technologies...
Alien problems...
Funny sometimes...
Has made me so obsessed with
Has consumed me inside out
That I can not think of a life without
Nor I ever could be satisfied with...
No complains whatsoever though
Since I love being drowned
In this love hatred affair
Can anyone guess
How deep this rabbit hole goes..?
